The Norman Course

Designed by golf legend Greg Norman, the highly anticipated Norman Course opened for play in 2005.  The Norman Course incorporates the stunning, natural undulations of the Potomac River Valley, using Norman’s “Least Disturbance Approach” to course design. The front nine will run east along the Potomac River, parallel to Nos. 14, 15 and 16 of the current RTJ II course, while the back nine comes west along the river towards Goose Creek. The last four holes measure exactly 1,760 yards – equal to one mile – making it, according to Norman, “the hardest mile in golf.” The Norman Course has been designed with the capabilities to sustain a major championship, but with multiple sets of tees as not to overwhelm the everyday golfer.
